Stump Pass Beach State Park is located on Manasota Key, 1.5 miles south of Beach Road which is the main route to the island, and can be accessed by car. I have included a Google map to aid you in finding this wonderful area. The park itself is composed of over 245 acres spread over three islands and the channels between them. A two dollar entrance fee allows 8 people and one vehicle access from 8:00a.m. to sundown 365 days a year.
Once you arrive and park there is direct beach access or the option of journeying down the foot trail (no motor vehicles allowed). The entire length of park can be traversed by beach, barring high or low tide. If you choose to trek the foot trail, which also can be submerged by the tide, it meanders for almost 1.5 miles until you reach the parks end. The trail itself is covered mostly by a dense canopy which allows for a cooler and quieter walk. The trail also provides openings to both the beach side and the channel side for relaxation, fishing or for access to the park if you are on a boat.
Stump Pass Beach State Park is a fun place to take the family or that someone you've been wanting to spend a romantic time with. There is so much available to do, and with access easy and close to Englewood, Stump Pass is one of the best places around to relax and soak in some awesome Florida sunshine.
