Gasparilla Island State Park is located at the southern end of Gasparilla Island, just south of Boca Grande and is accessible via the Boca Grande causeway. Here is a Google map for you to get directions. For the more daring you can park your vehicle at the Boca Grande causeway and walk or bike to the park. With 1.5 miles of paved roads followed by 6.5 miles of mixed dirt and paved trails, you can traverse the entire island by bicycle or foot.

Open from 8:00a.m. until sunset year-round, the two dollar entrance fee gains you access to all five parking areas and 144 acres of beaches and state park. Not included in the entrance fee, for a small donation you can visit the Boca Grande Lighthouse and Museum which was built in 1890. The museum contains many images of the rich history of the lighthouse and the island itself, and is well worth the time to walk through.

If sightseeing is not your cup of tea, try out one of the many picnicing and bar-b-que areas. Or if you prefer to just relax, this beach all but guarantees seclusion. Weather you prefer a romantic walk at sunset or a historical site to bring the kids to, Gasparilla Island provides it all.
